Attorney Chris Davis was featured in the October 2012 issue of the prestigious legal publication Trial Magazine which is published by the American Association for Justice. The contents of the article are as follows:
Chris Davis fondly remembers his high school sports experiences and what they taught him. Honoring the roots of his own success, he and his law firm, the Davis Law Group Car Accident and Personal Injury Lawyers, started the Davis Law Group Car Accident and Personal Injury Lawyers Scholar Athlete of the week program in 2009. The program has already benefited nearly 100 high school students in Washington State.
“We created the scholar athlete program to recognize and encourage high school students who excel both inside and outside the classroom,” said Davis, of Seattle. “I realize how much hard work and dedication is required to be an excellent student and a high-performing athlete. I lettered in three sports in high school while maintaining an honors-level GPA. The sense of discipline that I developed during that time helped me to become successful both personally and professionally in the years that followed.”
Each week, the Davis Law Group Car Accident and Personal Injury Lawyers selects a high school senior in a Washington high school who has demonstrated excellence both on the filed and in the classroom. To be eligible, students must have at least at 3.0 GPA and be major contributors to their sports. Scholar-athletes can self-nominate or be nominated by peers, parents, coaches, teachers, and administrators. The award includes a $100 scholarship and consideration for a $1,000 scholarship to one male and female athlete at the end-of-the-year banquet.
Mischelle Weedman-Davis, director of Client Relations & Operations for the Davis Law Group Car Accident and Personal Injury Lawyers, said the program provides a wonderful benefit to everyone involved. “I hope that the scholar-athletes who are recognized by our program will inspire others to realize their full potential—especially our own children,” she said.
