Davis Law Group Car Accident and Personal Injury Lawyers has filed a injury lawsuit on behalf of a 29 year-old man who was in a semi truck accident while riding his motorcycle in Kent, WA.
The lawsuit claims that the semi truck driver employed by CRST Specialized Transportation, Inc. (a subsidiary of CRST International, Inc.) of Cedar Rapids, Iowa acted negligently and ultimately caused the accident which took place at the intersection of South 228th and 54th Ave South on May 30, 2019.
At approximately 8:34 AM the semi made a right hand turn in front of the motorcyclist driving a 2007 Yamaha R6. The motorcycle had the right of way. The motorcycle tried to stop and left 84 feet of skid marks before making contact with the side of the semi truck.
The motorcyclist sustained serious injuries and incurred significant damages as a result of the collision including: a fractured pelvis, shoulder fracture, rotator cuff tear, hip hematoma, back and neck injuries, wrist and ankle injuries.
According to the complaint for damages filed in King County Superior court, defendant truck driver Kevin E. Perkins breached his duty of care and his duty to act reasonably by, among other things, failing to be attentive while operating a commercial vehicle. Defendant CRST Specialized Transportation, Inc., breached its duty of care and its duty to act reasonably by failing to properly hire, train and supervise its employees, truck drivers, agents, contractors, and staff, including Defendant Kevin E. Perkins regarding the safe operation of commercial trucks while conducting business for CRST Specialized Transportation, Inc.
