Mr. Gent has been representing and advocating on behalf of victims and survivors of traumatic injuries for over 20 years. Jacob has represented individuals throughout Washington State since being admitted to the bar in 2010. He is licensed to practice law in federal court and all jurisdictions in the state of Washington. He is a participating member of the American Association of Justice, Washington State Bar Association, Washington State Association for Justice (Eagle status), as well as the King and Snohomish County Bar Associations. Jacob has authored and lectured on personal injury related topics, educating peers and healthcare providers in his practice area. Jacob earned his Juris Doctorate from Widener University School of Law in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania in August 2009. During law school Jacob was a member of the Trial Advocacy Honor Society and intern providing free legal services to indigent, elderly, and disabled individuals.
Prior to becoming an attorney, Jacob worked as a senior negotiator and Litigation Specialist for Farmers Insurance where he investigated, evaluated, and resolved first- and third-party injury claims and coverage disputes on the company’s behalf. He completed the Claims Management Training (CMT) Program, served as a backup Claims Supervisor, and was certified as a Liability Claims Specialist by the Insurance Institute of America. He transitioned to advocating for injured individuals in 2002 first as a case manager, then attorney, for a Seattle-based personal injury firm.
Born and raised in central Illinois, Jacob moved to Seattle in 1994 after receiving a BA in Theater Arts (Directing and Production) from Eastern Illinois University. He worked for over a decade as a director, actor, and stage manager throughout the Puget Sound region. Building upon this foundation, Jacob brings his expertise in authentic communication, empathetic relatability, and narrative storytelling to his trial work.
Jacob lives in Snohomish County with his spouse Danielle, also an attorney, and their son.
