Davis Law Group Receives Seattle Business Magazine’s ‘Best Companies to Work For’ Award Learn More
The award-winning team of attorneys at Davis Law Group is proud to announce a $2,250,000 settlement for the family of our client EJS, who tragically lost his life due to the reckless and unlawful actions of an intoxicated driver.
On April 12, 2023, our client was lawfully riding his Suzuki VS1400 motorcycle along Bald Hills Road SE near Yelm, Washington. He wore a high-visibility jacket and helmet, and his motorcycle was equipped with always-on headlamp and taillight features for added safety.
Tragically, a man operating a 2004 Volkswagen sedan was under the influence when he crossed the double yellow line and struck the motorcyclist head-on. The collision caused catastrophic trauma to our client’s left arm and severe trauma to his leg. The force of the crash ultimately resulted in the motorcyclist’s death.
Adding to the devastation, the at-fault driver fled the scene of the deadly crash. He was later apprehended and convicted of felony vehicular homicide and hit-and-run in June 2024.
The team at Davis Law Group was committed to securing justice for our client’s family. We demonstrated that the defendant’s gross negligence and intoxicated driving were directly responsible for this tragedy. The evidence presented included police reports, accident reconstructions, and eyewitness testimony, all of which painted a clear picture of the pain and suffering caused by the defendant’s actions.
In the end, Davis Law Group successfully recovered a $2,250,000 settlement from the defendant’s insurance company. Because no amount of compensation could truly account for the emotional and financial toll this incident had on the victim’s family, we pursued the full policy limits of the at-fault driver insurance coverage. However, the settlement provided some measure of accountability and financial relief to cover outstanding medical expenses, funeral costs, and emotional suffering.
At Davis Law Group, we remain dedicated to fighting for victims of negligence and ensuring the surviving families of wrongful death victims get justice.
