The widow of the man tragically killed in an accident with a street sweeper in Bellevue in February of this year has retained attorney Chris Davis of Davis Law Group, P.S., to investigate the incident and pursue a possible wrongful death claim.
The victim died from blunt-force trauma to his head and chest when, as a pedestrian, he was struck by the street sweeper on Northeast 120th Street. Culai, a native of Moldova, was a professional Christian singer and tractor-trailer driver. Alexandru's wife was 8 months pregnant at the time of the accident that took his life. He also had two children from a previous marriage.
Although the street sweeper vehicle (1992 International Series 4700 Street Sweeper Truck, Manufactured by Navistar) is registered to Nelson & Son Construction, the 67-year-old driver is employed by Woodinville-based Enviro Clean Leasing which was hired by a subcontractor of Rafn working on the construction site where the accident took place.
Law enforcement officials are still investigating the accident. It may be several months before their findings are released.
