Police Say Pepsi Truck Was “Driving Too Fast”

The victim of a serious accident involving a Pepsi Cola 18-wheeler has retained the semi truck accident attorneys at Davis Law Group to represent him in possible legal action related to the March 2019 crash.

Our client was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram 1400 pickup truck on southbound I-5 near milepost 175 during stop-and-go morning rush hour traffic at around 7:20am.  He was at a stop when he suddenly heard the sound of tires squealing. He turned his back to see what was making the sound and then grabbed the steering wheel to brace for impact. He was rear-ended by a 2016 Chevy Silverado that had been struck by a 20017 Volvo tractor trailer owned by Star Trans LLC of Federal Way on behalf of the Pepsi Cola Company.  The impact lifted the bed off the frame of the Dodge Ram.

Law enforcement investigation documents indicate that the Pepsi truck was “driving too fast to slow down in time.”

According to Star Trans website they have a commitment to safety.  Quote: "We take the safety of all of our drivers, employees and customers seriously. It’s our promise to you....All new hires are given one-on-one training with a driver trainer....To ensure our safety standards and procedures are always up-to-date, all employees attend comprehensive recurrent and annual training...Each and every employee is trained on all DOT standards and regulations. All employees are required to follow all company safety rules and are rewarded for exceptional safety performance."

The victim suffered multiple serious injuries to his neck, back, wrist, shoulder, and elbow.  As of 11/19/2019 the case has not entered into litigation.
