Public Asked To Assist In The Recovery Of Evidence
The heart-broken family of LaVonne Bennett has retained Seattle-based civil litigation firm Davis Law Group to represent her estate in possible legal action related to the accident that took place on May 9, 2017 at Eden's Villa assisted living facility located at 10714 38th Ave NE, Seattle 98125.
Eighty-eight year old Elaine Babb drove her 2004 Mercedes C24D into the assisted living facility and killed 72 year LaVonne Bennett who sitting in a chair in her room when the vehicle came through the wall.
The actions and conduct of Babb are under investigation by the Seattle Police Department. Babb told reporters from KIRO 7 news that she meant to back up her vehicle and the car shot forward unexpectedly. She went on to say that she has no intention of giving up her car and will drive again soon.
COLLECTION OF EVIDENCE: Efforts should have been made to gather and securely store any relevant physical evidence which was removed from the scene of the accident. However, evidence was destroyed following the removal of the vehicle. KIRO news crews filmed workers removing and throwing away the chair that the victim was sitting in at the time of the accident.
