The crash occurred near the intersection of 48th Avenue West and 222nd Street Southwest in Mountlake Terrace just after 11:30 p.m.

Those who witnessed the accident say the driver, Micheal Spieker of Edmonds, was racing with another car.  Spieker allegedly crashed when he tried to pass a car in front of him and instead drove into a forested area.  The car caught on fire.

Residents of nearby homes pulled unconscious 26-year-old woman from the burning car.  The medical examiner said that she died of multiple blunt force injuries.

Police say the driver admitted to consuming alcohol before the accident and may have been texting and driving when the crash occurred.  The driver is facing a possible vehicular homicide charge in connection to the crash.
