Chris Davis Featured in Seattle Weekly

Chris Davis was featured in the Law & Courts sections of the Seattle Weekly’s August 3rd blog for his involvement and campaigning for harsher sentencing of drunken drivers. Davis represents the victims of drunk driving accidents, and many time criminals of these accidents are prosecuted with light fines or minimal jail sentences. In 2008, an estimated 11,773 people died in drunk driving crashes involving a driver with an illegal BAC (.08 or greater). These deaths constitute 31.6 percent of the 37,261 total traffic fatalities in 2008. (Source: NHTSA, 2009)
Washington law provides that the drivers on the road have the ducty to not operate a motor vehicle when under the influence of alcohol. See RCW 46.61.502
