Failure to Yield Right of Way To Bicycle
News: Large Bicycle Settlement Case In Washington State
Two cyclists left Seattle to begin a cross-country bicycle trip. Before even leaving Washington State they were struck on SR 105 by the driver of a van. The cyclists were obeying the rules of the road and were traveling single-file on the shoulder of the road. The driver of the van claims not to have seen the cyclists. One cyclist suffered only minor injuries while the other suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. The case later settled for one million dollars.
Bicycle accident attorney Chris Davis has published a book on Washington State bicycle accident law. He has also published a book on Washington State wrongful death law.
