Davis Law Group, P.S., a Seattle-based law firm, in partnership with OfficeMax, is pleased to announce that Megan Parnell is this week’s winner of the Davis Law Group School Supplies Gift Program. Ms. Parnell teaches classes for the 4th-6th grades at Hazel Valley Elementary School in Burien.
At Hazel Valley Elementary, Ms. Parnell teaches ILC for students in the 4th through 6th grades. Her class is currently involved in a number of academic projects involving reading, science, social studies and health.
Ms. Parnell was nominated for this award by the parent of one of her students, Crystal Kitterman, who describes her as “an extremely dedicated teacher” with a great deal of passion for her students.
“[Ms. Parnell] takes the time to teach our children not only academics but real life skills that they will benefit from, ” she says.
In addition to purchasing basic school supplies for the classroom, Ms. Parnell will use the gift card to provide additional resources for history and science projects for the students – things that she usually spends hundreds of dollars of her own on throughout the school year.
Attorney Chris Davis and his wife started a program to help public school teachers get extra classroom supplies without having to spend their own money. The Davis Law Group School Supplies Gift Program gives a $100 OfficeMax gift card each week to a deserving Washington State Public school teacher and his/her class. Anyone can nominate a teacher for this program, including teachers, students, parents and administrators.
