March 30, 2011, Seattle, WA - Davis Law Group, P.S., a Seattle-based law firm, is pleased to announce that Donna Amira is a recipient of the Davis Law Group School Supplies Gift Program. Ms. Amira is an art teacher at Dunlap Elementary School in Seattle, WA.
Ms. Amira teaches art to over 450 students, many of whom receive financial public assistance and face enormous challenges in their lives. She spends more than $1,000 of her own money each year on class supplies. And through Ms. Amira's inspiration a number of students have won city and state art competitions including the Washington Poison Center's Poison Prevention Week Poster Contest. She plans to use the school supplies gift to purchase additional art supplies for her students.
Attorney Chris Davis and his wife started a program to help public school teachers get extra classroom supplies without having to spend their own money. The Davis Law Group School Supplies Gift Program gives a $100 Office Depot gift card each week to a deserving Seattle Public school teacher and his/her class. Anyone can nominate a teacher for this program, teachers, and students, parents, and administrators.
