Disputed liability bicycle versus motor vehicle collision. A bicyclist represented by Davis Law Group was injured when hit by a motor vehicle as the cyclist rode through a marked crosswalk in a Seattle intersection.
Witnesses at the scene were split as to who caused the accident. The defendant motorist disputed fault and blamed the cyclist.
On admission to the hospital, the bicyclist became hypotensive and went into hypovolemic as a result of a large pelvic hematoma. The bicyclist further sustained several unstable pelvic fractures requiring a closed reduction percutaneous fixation procedure with placement of an external fixator.
The bicyclist was hospitalized for 10 days and spent six weeks on bedrest with a prophylactic course of blood thinners. The bicyclist returned to weight bearing approximately six months post-incident.
