Woman Struck by Everett Police Car in Crosswalk

A 60-year-old woman was hit by a police car while she was crossing the street Tuesday morning in Everett, according to police reports.

Everett Police Department spokesman Aaron Snell says an Everett Police officer was responding to a 911 call just before 6 a.m. Tuesday when he struck a 60-year-old woman who was crossing the road in a marked crosswalk near Wetmore and Wall Street near the Everett Police station.

Snell says the officer was en route to provide assistance to another police officer when the accident occurred. The collision allegedly occurred at a low speed, and the officer stopped to render aid to the woman until emergency crews arrived. The woman was taken to Providence Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries to her side and knee.
