A multi-vehicle car crash on Interstate 5 in southern Washington left a 33-year-old Vancouver woman dead Wednesday night.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the crash took place just before 8 p.m. near the Woodland city limits when Melissa Kelso’s Honda Civic drifted across the roadway and collided with two other vehicles. Officers say Kelso apparently lost control of her vehicle and crashed into a Toyota Corolla, followed by a tractor trailer rig before coming to rest against a cement barrier on the side of the highway.
Police report that Kelso was transported to PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead from her injuries. The other drivers involved in the accident did not report that they were injured in the car accident on Interstate 5.
