A boat accident in Washington State killed one person and injured two more people late Tuesday, leading to a rescue search for the victims Wednesday.
According to Nathan Bradshaw of the Coast Guard, three people were reported missing Tuesday evening after they failed to return home from a fishing trip. The Coast Guard began searching early Wednesday with boats and a helicopter, and crews spotted the 24-foot boat near the shore at Leadbetter Point.
One person had died by the time rescue personnel arrived on the scene, and two others were flown to an ambulance via the Coast Guard helicopter. Both injured victims were taken to a nearby hospital in Aberdeen, where their condition remains unknown.
Bradshaw says it is not clear what caused the boat to overturn, and the name of the deceased has not yet been released.
