Davis Law's Phone Number Hijacked By Caller ID Spoofer Making Tele-Marketing Robo Calls
The Davis Law Group operations team recently learned that an unethical telemarketing firm is fraudulently masking their identity by using our name and phone numbers in caller id. The caller sometimes refers to himself as Ethan or Michael with Davis Law Group and often calls victims repeatedly within the same day.
The identity theft practice of caller ID hijacking is commonly referred to as phone spoofing. "Phone spoofing” relates to the number that shows up on caller ID. It’s used to trick people into picking up calls they otherwise wouldn’t and thus get around the National Do Not Call Registry.
