Taxi Accidents in Seattle
Taxicab drivers owe a high duty of care to their passengers and an ordinary duty of care to everyone else on the road. If you or a loved one has been involved in an accident involving a taxicab, you may be able to pursue compensation through an insurance claim or personal injury lawsuit.
Taxi accident cases can be complicated because cab companies attempt to avoid liability by protecting their assets through shell businesses and trying to classify cab drivers as independent contractors. Given the complexity of these cases, it is important that you are represented by a knowledgeable Seattle taxi accident lawyer.
In an accident involving a taxi, the amount of damages you and your family can hope to collect will depend on the degree to which the taxi driver should prove to have been responsible for causing the accident in which you or a loved one suffered injury.
Damages may include:
- Ambulance bills
- Present and future medical expenses
- The cost of rehabilitation/physical therapy
- Lost wages
- Disfigurement
- Pain and suffering
- Funeral expenses and other costs
