Investigators believe drugs and/or alcohol were involved in a Sedro Woolley crash that has killed one person and sent two more to the hospital Thursday afternoon.
The crash occurred just after 2:30 p.m. on Warner Street where a speeding driver headed east ran several intersections and signs and eventually collided with a vehicle headed north.
One female passenger was ejected from the speeding vehicle and killed, the driver was transported to the hospital with unknown injuries and is suspected of being under the influence
The occupants of the vehicle that was struck are reportedly uninjured.
Legal Rights For Drunk Driving Accident Victims
Every drunk driving crash is preventable accident and every drunk driving fatality is a tragedy.
Thankfully, even though the woman killed was in the same car as the drunk driver, that should not effect her rights as an accident victim.
Reports have also indicated that the passenger who was ejected and killed may not have been wearing their seatbelt at the time of the collision which insurance companies could use to claim to she is negligent for the severalty of her injuries .
While she may bare some responsibility if she was not indeed wearing a seatbelt, comparative negligence could still be debated in settlement or court to find the majority of liability on the part of their driver.
