Davis Law Group continues to reach out to the Seattle community with yet another community program. Attorney Chris Davis and his wife Mischelle were disturbed after watching a 60 Minutes segment that discussed homeless children throughout the country. Along with the startling statistics, there were also heart-wrenching stories that inspired them to reach out to the local children in need. This holiday season, Davis Law Group is teaming up with Project Night Night to help homeless children in shelters. Davis Law Group is assembling hundreds of Project Night Night packages that consist of a blanket, book, stuffed animal and some holiday treats. Employees at Davis Law Group will be dropping off the packages to Mary's Place, YWCA and Union Gospel Mission's Hope Place.
Homeles Children Statistics
According to stats available from the King County Committee to End Homelessness, 8,349 individuals were counted as homeless in Seattle on a single night in January. Hundreds, perhaps thousands more were uncounted because they avoided the volunteers who were counting, bunked for the night on a couch at a relative’s house, or slept outside city limits.36% of the homeless population consisted of single adult men; 13% were single adult women; 1% were unaccompanied youth; and 50% were families with children. Half of all the individuals in King County’s shelters are children aged 0-17 – an especially dire.
