A Seattle Police Officer was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries following his pursuit of a hit-and-run suspect Friday evening. Police received a report at approximately 11 p.m. stating that a man crashed into a car near Martin Luther King Jr. Way South and South Warsaw Street and then fled the scene.Officers continued to receive reports of the suspect’s possible location and began searching the area. They located the vehicle near 35th Avenue South and South Orcas Street and found the suspect running away. Officers pursued the suspect on foot and during the arrest one officer injured his knee, right thumb and suffered cuts to his hands and arms.
The suspect, a 38-year-old male, was booked into King County Jail that evening on charges of hit and run collision, driving under the influence, negligent driving and obstruction of a police officer.
