Passenger Killed In Suspected DUI Motorcycle Accident in Everett

Officials with the Washington State Patrol suspect that driver impairment may have played a role in a fatal motorcycle accident that occurred on Interstate 5 near Everett Wednesday night.

According to, the accident occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes of I-5 north of the 164th Street exit. For unknown reasons, the driver veered off of the freeway to the right side and crashed the motorcycle, causing both the driver and female passenger to be ejected from the bike.

The 38-year-old passenger was pronounced dead at the scene by first responders, while the 37-year-old male driver was taken to a nearby hospital in Everett with what are described as serious injuries.

According to news reports, investigators have reason to believe that the man was driving under the influence of alcohol when he crashed and faces charges of vehicular homicide and DUI.
