One person was critically injured and another two were hospitalized after a crash on Highway 99 near Everett Wednesday evening.
Emergency crews responded to the scene just after 5:00 p.m. where they found a white Mazda CX-9 had struck a blue Volkswagen Jetta that was turning left according to state troopers.
Both drivers were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment but the passenger in the Jetta was critically injured and transported to Harborview medical center for treatment.
Investigators at the scene determine the driver of the Mazda to be at fault though she was not suspected of driving under the influence and has not been arrested or charged with any related charges at this time.
Understanding Your Legal Options After A Collision
Accident victims injured in a collision have a lot of important challenges in front of them from the physical recovery to the financial recovery once they begin to get back on their feet.
Accident victims with injuries as the individual critically hurt in this crash have little say in the type and volume of care they receive initially, but even those who may have escaped with simply minor or seemingly inconsequential injuries should seek an evaluation from a medical professional as quickly as possible after a crash to avoid a gap in care that could pose a risk to an eventual recovery should care be necessary.
Victims with significant injuries requiring extensive care worried about how they can pay for their care have several options in front of them to minimize the added stress to their situation. Victims can use their PIP coverage if carried to help pay for care as it's ongoing and if that coverage is not available or is exhausted a medical lien can be placed on an eventual recovery allowing the injured party to receive all of the care necessary without necessarily having to worry about paying as they go.
Victims struggling to make ends meet going through treatment after an accident or concerned about the cost of their care or size of their recovery should make sure they have the best possible understanding of their options and the best and most experience victims advocates by their side who can help them get the recovery they deserve.
