Updated on: 3/12/2019

Two officers had to be taken to a nearby hospital after crashing into each other while responding to a report of a potentially violent situation in Olympia Wednesday night.

Sgt Jim Partin was headed northbound on Puget Street in Olympia when he noticed a suspicious vehicle and attempted to make a U-Turn. As Partin attempted to turn around, he collided with Officer Jeff Davis’s patrol vehicle, who was also headed northbound on Puget Street.

Both officers sustained injuries in the auto accident, though they were considered non-life-threatening, and their patrol vehicles have significant damage. They were both taken to St. Peter’s Hospital, treated for their injuries and released. An investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing, officials said.
