A total of 364 impaired drivers were pulled over and arrested during the Washington Traffic Safety Commision’s (WTSC) “Drive Hammered, Get Nailed” campaign, according to the WTSC.
The campaign, which ran from August 17 to September 3, provided additional law enforcement officials throughout the State of Washington in hopes of taking impaired drivers off the roadway and putting them behind bars. Statewide, the WTSC says they arrested a total of 1,603 drunk drivers during the campaign.
According to the Seattle Times, last year’s campaign netted a total of 452 drunk drivers – nearly 100 more than this year. We are unsure if that’s a good sign or a bad sign for the overall success of the campaign, but either way these officers prevented hundreds of potentially serious traffic accidents by getting drunk drivers off the streets.
