Seeking Compensation After a Fatal Motorcycle Crash
Losing a loved one in a motorcycle accident is a devastating and life-changing experience. The overwhelming emotions and the sudden financial stress put on a family is something no one should have to go through. The knowledge that someone else’s carelessness or negligence caused the fatal accident makes the pain even harder to bear.
The immediate family of a motorcyclist killed in a crash is able to file a wrongful death lawsuit and seek compensation for their loved one’s losses. Washington state allows a spouse, child or parent to file a claim.
The potential insurance payouts after a fatal motorcycle accident are high. For that reason, insurance companies will usually fiercely defend the at-fault driver in an attempt to pay the motorcyclist’s family as little as possible. If a victim’s family wants justice, consulting with an experienced motorcycle accident lawyer is often the best course of action.
