A 53-year-old man from Redmond is in the hospital after being involved in a car accident with a semi-truck on Redmond Way.
Police say that the man tried to pass a semi-truck that was making a wide right turn. According to reports, the semi-truck was headed Westbound on Redmond Way and signaled to make a wide right turn, meaning he had to drift to the left a bit before turning so that he could maneuver around the corner.
The man tried to pass the truck on the right side in his Ford Focus, but was cut off when the truck began making the turn.
The man sustained serious injuries to the left side of his body as a result of the truck accident, and was subsequently taken to Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. His two sons were in the car at the time of the crash and they suffered minor injuries. The driver of the semi-truck, which was carrying a load of dry goods, was not hurt. Though it is pretty clear what caused this crash, the incident is still under investigation.
