News reports state that 50-year-old James Southard Jr. pleaded not guilty to the deadly drunk driving collision and Court Commissioner Craig Adams ordered him jailed in lieu of $1.5 million bail, up from the prosecutor’s request of $500,000.
The accident took place at approximately 5:30 p.m. on August 11 near the intersection of 214th Ave E. and SR 410.
