A woman was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver merging onto State Route 167 this morning in Kent, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. on the onramp to SR 167 from 84th Avenue South.
The driver of the vehicle did not stop and police are investigating leads to track the driver down. Police say there were no witnesses to the crash.
The 46-year-old victim was attempting to cross the crosswalk on 84th Avenue South.
"This is a Felony Hit and Run Fatality," Washington State Patrol trooper Rick Johnson said on Twitter. "Ramp will be closed for an extended period of time."
