Police are looking for the driver who caused a hit-and-run accident in Parkland Saturday evening, leaving a 10-year-old girl hospitalized with serious injuries.
According to KOMONews.com, the crash occurred just after 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of 113th Street S. in Parkland, a small town between Tacoma and Spanaway. The young girl was riding her scooter around the neighborhood with her dad when she was struck by a black SUV traveling at a high rate of speed.
The girl suffered a number of broken bones – broken leg, pelvis, and arm – as a result of the crash and had to undergo a surgical procedure Sunday morning. Meanwhile, the police are still looking for the driver responsible for causing the collision.
Neighbor Springs Into Action To Help Injured Child
A neighbor who witnessed the collision quickly ran across the street to assist the injured girl while paramedics were en-route. The neighbor witnessed the collision but unfortunately could not catch the license plate of the vehicle or any other identifying information.
Home security footage showed a medium-sized black SUV, which would likely have some front-end damage due to the collision. Police believe it may be an older-model black Nissan Pathfinder.

Importance Of A Thorough Car Accident Investigation
Discovering the identify of a hit-and-run driver is key to the injured victim’s ability to pursue a personal injury claim. And the police are perhaps the most important resource for accident victims who have been injured in hit-and-run collisions, as the police are motivated to find hit-and-run drivers and have a number of ways of doing so.
However, law enforcement’s focus when it comes to locating a hit-and-run driver may differ from the priorities of an injured accident victim. Hiring a qualified personal injury attorney may be necessary in order to further investigate other legal issues in a hit-and-run case, including insurance availability and other factors that can affect liability.
