Investigating Head-On Collisions

When an attorney is hired to represent the victim in a head-on collision case, the attorney will take immediate action. The goal is to establish clear liability by collecting evidence, evaluating the facts of the case and interviewing witnesses.

If the at-fault driver was driving in the wrong direction or was in the wrong lane at the time of the collision, and this can be established with physical evidence, then fault can be established. If the attorney can prove that the driver crossed the center line and violated the victim’s right of way, fault is liability is straightforward.

The attorney will also look at medical records and the subsequent medical bills to make a thorough account of the accident.

Once the above is done, the attorney will likely make contact with the at-fault driver’s insurance company and file a claim. This gets the ball rolling. The case may then proceed in a variety of different ways, depending on many factors.
