A man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with a potential brain injury Wednesday morning after he was involved in a multi-vehicle accident on the Fourth Avenue South Bridge in Seattle.
According to Seattle police spokesman Mark Jamieson, the crash took place at around 7:45 a.m. when a 55-year-old man was driving the north in the southbound lanes. His miscalculation resulted in a multi-vehicle collision on the bridge, which reportedly resulted in an oil spill.
The oil spill caused the bridge to be closed for several hours, and Seattle firefighters had to work for about 15 minutes to get the 55-year-old man out of his vehicle. The man was reportedly transported to Harborview in Seattle with significant head trauma, and there has been no information on his current condition. Jamieson added that drugs or alcohol may have been a factor in the wrong-way car accident in Seattle.
