A man was killed and a child was hospitalized with injuries after a crash on Chuckanut Drive near Burlington on Thursday night, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Chuckanut Drive (State Route 11) near Pulver Road, about one mile west of Burlington.
Police say a Ford Escape SUV driven by a teenager was heading west on SR 11 when it collided with a Ford F250 pickup truck, driven by a 31-year-old Sedro-Woolley man.
The driver of the pickup truck was killed in the crash. A child in the pickup was injured and taken to a local hospital. Another child and a woman in the pickup were not injured. The teen driver and two other minors who were passengers in the SUV were not injured.
The State Patrol said that drugs or alcohol were involved in the collision.
Further details about the crash are not available. The incident remains under investigation by the WSP.
