UPDATE: Some news reports are now saying that all three people who were in the SUV have died. A worker who was in the bucket of the utility truck was injured. Names of the victims have not yet been released.
Two people are dead and two are injured after a truck accident in Tacoma this morning. An SUV collided head-on with an electrical utility truck in Hilltop neighborhood, off 14th Street and Martin Luther King Jr. Way.
The names of the victims have not been released to the public at this point in time. We will update this post with more information as soon as it becomes available.
Of the two people who were injured in the motor vehicle accident, one is in critical condition and another is in serious condition. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by emergency responders. In crashes involving stopped or stalled utility trucks, this type of investigation can take time. Witnesses told police that some kind of argument was taking place inside the SUV just before the crash, and that the driver of the SUV was behaving erratically on the road. Police will collect witness statements and try to reconstruct the timeline prior to the accident.
