A car collided with a construction semi truck Monday night near Ferndale, a crash that sent two people to the hospital, according to the Washington State Patrol.
State Patrol says a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck driven by a 26-year-old Lynden man was going southbound on North Enterprise Road and failed to stop at a stop sign at Destiny Street around 9 p.m.. The Tacoma entered into traffic and collided with a 2017 Kenworth construction semi truck.
The semi hit the Tacoma on the driver’s side. The Tacoma’s driver and his passenger, a 22-year-old Everson man, were transported to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center, one with serious injuries and the other with non-life threatening injuries.
The semi truck driver was not injured. The truck was towed from the scene.
State Patrol says drugs or alcohol are believed to have been involved in the wreck. All three people in the crash were wearing seat belts.
The incident remains under investigation.
