Seattle-area drivers may have been confused about a particular motor vehicle accident that took place on the shoulder of southbound Interstate 5 Monday morning.
According to Seattle police, a vehicle was following a Chevrolet Tahoe on Interstate 5 southbound at approximately 2 a.m. Monday when it tried to take the Albro Place exit. Officials say the driver tried to make the turn too quickly and lost control of the vehicle. The car flipped over on its roof in the collision and finally came to a stop against the off-ramp guardrail.
The car then erupted in flames on the side of the road. Police say the driver took off running as the car caught fire, but they have located him and plan to interview him. Officials reported that they are also investigating whether or not alcohol was a factor in the rollover crash on Interstate 5 in Seattle.
