Bicyclist Injured in Collision with Vehicle in Ballard

A woman was knocked off of her bicycle and suffered minor injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Ballard Wednesday afternoon. The biker, a woman in her 30s, was wearing a helmet but sustained minor injuries to her face. Police say that the driver of the car was attempting to turn right onto 8th Ave NW and struck the bicyclist, knocking her from her bicycle.

Though the injuries were minor, responders took extra precautions by giving her a c-collar and placing her on a backboard before loading her into the emergency vehicle. She was taken to Swedish Medical Center in Ballard to be treated for her injuries. The driver of the car was cited at the scene of the incident and released.
