A 25-year-old woman from Sedro-Woolley was arrested and booked into Pierce County Jail early Sunday morning after her 2001 Mercury Cougar struck a 1997 Dodge Caravan that had pulled onto the shoulder on southbound I-5. The car accident reportedly took place near Delin Street around 4:42 a.m.
Three of the disabled van’s passengers – a 41-year-old Seattle man, a 33-year-old Federal Way man, and a 36-year-old Tukwila woman – were injured in the crash and taken to Tacoma General Hospital. Washington State Patrol says the driver of the Mercury Cougar was under the influence and could face vehicular assault charges.
