A pair of toddlers have been hospitalized in Kent after a drunk driver struck the toy Barbie SUV they were playing.
The 3 and 5-year-old victims were taken to Harborview medical center, one in serious condition.
According to authorities, the driver attempted to leave the scene of the incident near the 19800 block of SE 281st St in Kent.
Police have taken the driver into custody under suspicion of driving under the influence as well as two counts of vehicular assault.
Injuries To Minors
Injuries to minors on our roads are some of the most tragic and heartbreaking claims we encounter representing accident victims.
The fact that these children were harmed by a drunk-driver only makes this story more painful.
Thankfully children hurt in accidents as passengers or pedestrians carry the same rights and protections as an adult and have time to make sure they can resolve the claim properly.
The statute of limitations for a child injury claim is three years from the date of the accident if handled by the parents, or within three years of their 18th birthday if the claim is brought by the now-adult child themselves.
If you or a loved one have experienced a child injury in the family and have questions about a potential claim, the experienced team of child injury attorneys at Davis Law Group are here to help, offering free case evaluations to accident victims and their family members.
