Two people were injured in a street racing crash on Highway 397 in Kennewick on Monday afternoon, according to police.
Police say a BMW driven by a 19-year-old Pasco man was speeding in the southbound lanes of SR 397 near Gum Street. His car crashed into a Dodge pickup truck driven by a 53-year-old Kennewick man, who was not involved in the street race.
Both drivers suffered injuries in the car crash. Both were sent to the hospital.
Police say the 19-year-old will likely be charged with negligent driving for speeding. The man was racing with another car, a red sedan.
The incident remains under investigation.
