Statistically, children under age 16 are the most likely to be struck by a car, but elderly victims are the most likely to die as a result of pedestrian or crosswalk accident injuries. Most pedestrian accidents occur on the weekends during the evening hours. Pedestrian accidents in the late afternoon increase when daylight savings time is removed in the winter and the sun sets earlier.
We are dedicated to representing those who have suffered a loss or disability through in a bicycle accident, crosswalk accident, or pedestrian collision. These cases can be challenging, if not difficult, to pursue. Almost always the insurance company will allege comparative fault or negligence against the accident victim. You need an experienced pedestrian accident attorney who can successfully defeat the insurance company's claims of negligence either in court or before a lawsuit is ever necessary. Often pedestrian and bicycle accidents involve serious, permanent or catastrophic injuries that will need to be adequately proved and successfully negotiated by an experienced personal injury attorney. The experienced personal injury attorney will usually have the skills to successfully prove the case in court and present the case in a way that will help motivate jurors or the insurance company to award maximum compensation.
If you or a family member has suffered personal injury as the result of a pedestrian or bicycle accident, Seattle Injury Attorney Chris Davis and the Davis Law Group, P.S. can help you.

Pedestrian Accident Statistics
There was a loss of 4,881 lives in pedestrian/motor vehicle crashes in 2005, almost thirteen people every day of the year (NHTSA Traffic Safety Facts). Though the number of pedestrian fatalities fell from 5,584 in 1995 to 4,881 in 2005, the fatalities in 2005 were the highest since 4,901 fatalities were recorded in 2001. Fortunately, the number of reported injuries involving pedestrians fell from 84,000 in 1995 to 64,000 in 2005. However, only a fraction of pedestrian crashes that cause injury are ever recorded by the police.
A detailed breakdown of the age, gender, and location of pedestrian crash victims is available from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) fact sheets. Some of the more noteworthy trends or numbers are:
Are they allowed to ride two abreast?
It's my understanding that bikers are supposed to (for the main part) remain in the far right hand lane. What are some exeption to this rule? Can they go into the left hand lane when wanting to take a left hand turn?
I get really upset when I see bicyclists driving and/or weaving between cars stopped on the road due to a red traffic light or a traffic backup. Then, I really cringe when I see bycyclists dart through intersections on a red light, often without stopping first to check for oncoming traffic. This is a common occurance. I see it almost every day. Aren't bicyclists subject to the same rules of the road as the rest of us in our cars?
