Two Children Hit By Car In Federal Way Crosswalk

Type: Pedestrian Accident, Injured Child, Possible Distracted Driver
Outcome: Two Injured

Two small boys (age 5 and 20 months) were struck by a car Wednesday and are now recovering at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. 

According to a witness they boy's mother wass pushing a stroller with the 20-month-old in it and the 5-year-old was walking alongside when they were hit in the  crosswalk. The mother was not injured.  Police said the driver of the car is a 31-year-old Federal Way woman. She was taken to St Francis Hospital in Federal Way with minor injuries.

Several witnesses say that the driver of the vehicle was looking down at the time of the accident which could indicate that she was texting while driving.  Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
