Missing Boater found Dead by Coast Guard

A man who was reported missing last night after he failed to return from being out in Case Inlet was found this morning at 7:30 am.

Coast Guard crews and Mason County deputies found the body of a missing boater early Thursday in Case Inlet. His body was recovered approximately three-quarters of a mile from his boat that was found while it was still running last night at 2:30 am.

The man has been identified as Michael K. Neher, age 67, of Union. Mr. Neher did not have any known medical conditions and his death is being investigated by the coroner and the Mason County Sheriff.
