• More Details Released in Local Hit and Run Case

  Snohomish County Sheriff's detectives are giving more details about two vehicles they are searching for related to a deadly hit and run Sunday. Early last Sunday morning, 45 year old Roberto Betran was killed in Everett and detectives believe the accident was a hit and run.
  
  Beltran was killed early hours Sunday morning in the 1100 block of 128th Street SW in Everett. Detectives believe Beltran was hit by an extended-cab pickup truck that left the scene. That truck likely has front end-damage.
  
  One of the vehichles detectives are looking is a Toyota Tundra, years 2003 to 2006. The truck is described as a "flair side" pickup truck that is white or light-colored. They believe this particular truck is a unique model.
  
  The second vehicle is a green minivan which detectives say appeared to be following the Tundra at the time of the crash.
  
  The sheriff's office released more traffic camera photos of the vehicles.

• Weekend Traffic Closures | Davis Law Group

  This Sunday, August 1st up to three lanes on northbound I-5 from SR 900 to Corson Avenue will close nightly from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. to install traffic loops. In addition to the northbound work being done, a single southbound lane in various locations of southbound I-5 from James Street to Southcenter will close nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. for electrical work.

  The overnight work will be going on from August 1st through the next Friday, August 6th.

• Discovery Bay Crash injures Seattle man, Utah Family | Davis Law Group

  A Seattle man was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after being in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 101 on Monday morning in Discovery Bay. State troopers said an SUV crossed the center line and crashed into an oncoming sedan near W. Uncas Road at approximately 10:10 a.m. 
  
  The driver of the car that was struck, a 34-year-old Seattle man, was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with a compound fracture to his arm. 
  
  The SUV that crossed the center line was carrying a Utah family. According to reports, the driver sustained cuts to his arms and left leg. He and his family were taken to a Port Townsend hospital to be checked out. It is truly a blessing that no one was killed in this head on collision. Head-on collisions typically account for only 2.0% of all crashes, yet accounted for 10.1% of US fatal crashes. 
  
  The cause of the crash has not been determined, and the investigation is ongoing. The area where the crash occurred was closed for approximately an hour after the crash.

• 1 Killed, 2 injured in T Bone Crash near Tacoma
  Jul 27, 2010

  A 40-year-old Fife man was killed and two other people were injured in a collision on Highway 99 during a police chase Monday night.
  
  According to Police the incident began when officers responded to reports of a reckless driver near Pacific Hwy. S. and 356th at approximately 6:40 p.m. When officers spotted the driver attempted to pull over her over, the woman took off headed south on the Highway 99. 
  
  It didn't take long for this to end poorly, 2.4 miles later at the intersection of Pacific Highway S and Porter Way the car t-boned another car passing through the intersection. 
  
  The man who was driving the car that was killed immediately, pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Douglas W. Simmons III. The 42-year-old woman who was in the passenger with Simmons was immediately taken to Madigan Army Medical Center with serious injuries.
  
  The driver who was running from police, 36-year-old Virginia Ramsey, of Auburn, was taken to St. Joseph Hospital where she was listed in serious condition.
  
  Upon being released from hospital, whenever that may be, Ramsey will be booked into jail and is expected to face charges of vehicular homicide and vehicular assault.
  
  

  Police said Ramsey had outstanding felony arrest warrants for escape and obstruction.

• Head-On Crash Near Discovery Bay | Seattle Injury Lawyer

  A Seattle man was struck head-on by another vehicle on U.S. Highway 101 near Discovery Bay, Washington, on Monday Morning.
  According to state troopers, at about 10:10 a.m., an SUV crossed the center line and crashed into the oncoming Seattle man's sedan near W. Uncas Road.
  The 34-year-old Seattle man suffered a compound fracture to his left arm and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center.
  A family from Utah was riding in the SUV. The SUV's driver sustained cuts to his arms and left leg during the collision. He and his family were both taken to a hospital in Port Townsend.
  Both cars were completely destroyed in the crash. The SUV landed on its roof and the sedan sat mangled some 50 feet away.
  The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
  The affected stretch of roadway was shut down to traffic for approximately an hour after the crash.   

  Washington State Passing Vehicle Law

  Drivers of vehicles proceeding in opposite directions shall pass each other to the right, and upon roadways having width for not more than one line of traffic in each direction each driver shall give to the other at least one-half of the main-traveled portion of the roadway as nearly as possible.
