Testing Greg's Bio

There are few attorneys that share Greg's true insight into how serious injuries change the lives of accident victims.  Greg Colburn has been the victim of a tragic accident and has suffered life-changing injuries.  He doesn't just understand--he has shared his client's experience.

Before becoming a trial lawyer, Greg was on a path to become a professional baseball player. He had a fast pitch and a wicked swing.  After high school in Montana he was drafted by the Colorado Rockies but chose to play ball at the University of Washington as a scholarship student-athlete. In 2002, he was team co-captain when the Huskies competed in the NCAA Men's Baseball Tournament. After his senior year he signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Personal Story

An Extraordinary Journey:  From a Field of Dreams to a Wheelchair

greg colburn lawyer UW baseballGreg never got the chance to realize his big league dreams because before he could report to LA Dodgers spring training, Greg suffered a career-ending injury to his feet as the result of falling from a rooftop while working as a carpenter--a job he had worked to help pay for many of his college expenses. The accident was caused by the roofing subcontractor's negligently installed roofing material and safety equipment. After the accident Greg spent nearly two years in a wheelchair.

Greg's life-changing injury is what inspired him to become an attorney. Although more than eighty lawyers declined to take his case, Greg persevered and his tenacity paid off when he finally convinced an attorney to represent him. As a result of his frustration with the workers compensation and civil justice systems, Greg decided to go to law school. Greg spent hundreds of hours working on his own case and successfully settled it in 2007.

Joining Davis Law Group

Prior to joining Davis Law Group he spent several years at a small law office in Issaquah. Greg was drawn to Davis Law Group because of its stellar reputation, standards for excellence, and client-centered focus. But it was the firm’s family values and commitment to community which convinced him that Davis Law Group was the place for him.

Greg and his wife Lauren share Chris and Mischelle Davis’ vision for what a law firm should be and they are active supporters of the Davis’ community service projects. The Davis' value Greg's contribution to the firm and look forward to a long-term professional and personal relationship with the Colburns.
