10-Year-Old Bicyclist Hit By Car in Shelton l Child Accident Attorney

SHELTON

A 10-year-old boy riding his bike along East Boardwalk Road in Shelton was hit by a car Saturday, according to Washington State Patrol reports.

The Shelton boy was riding his Huffy bicycle at 2:14 p.m. in front of a private driveway when a 33-year-old Shelton woman was driving along East Boardwalk Road in her 2004 Toyota Sienna minivan.

According to reports, the boy pulled out into the roadway and the woman was unable to swerve and avoid hitting him. The boy received a cut to his forehead and was taken to Mason General Hospital. It is unknown if he was wearing a helmet. His bike received no damage, according to the report.

The driver was not injured, but her car received about $750 worth of damage. The cause of the accident was a failure to yield by the 10-year-old, the report said. No charges have been filed.
