Holiday Giving To Homeless Children in Seattle
When Chris and Mischelle saw a 60 Minutes segment showing millions of homeless children in the US living on the street, in cars or shelters they were inspired to do something to help local homeless kids. During the holiday season Davis Law Group teams up with Project Night Night to assemble and hand deliver gift packages for homeless children in the Seattle area.
Both Chris and Mischelle’s mothers were public school teachers. When they heard the shocking statistic that school teachers spend about $356 of their own money on classroom supplies they knew that they had to help. They wanted to find a way to recognize teachers for their commitment and help relieve some of their financial burden. They created the Davis Law Group School Supplies Gift Program to help teachers in Washington State schools get the supplies that they need.
In 2009 Chris and Mischelle started the Davis Law Group Scholar Athlete Program to recognize outstanding high school senior-class student athletes who perform both on the field and in the classroom. Every week of the school year, a high school senior in the greater Seattle area is chosen as the DLG Scholar Athlete of the Week to acknowledge their commitment. At the end of the school year the firm sponsors a banquet for the winners and their families, where one male and one female are chosen as The Davis Law Group Scholar Athlete of the Year. The winners receive a scholarship and a beautiful glass trophy commemorating their achievement.
