An estimated 1.7 million adults and children sustain a traumatic brain injury (TBI) each year. Additionally 795,000 individuals sustain an acquired brain injury (ABI) from non-traumatic causes each year. Approximately 3.1 million people (children and adults) live with a lifelong disability as a result of TBI.

The Brain Injury Association of Washington's mission is to increase public awareness, support, and hope for those affected by brain injury through education, assistance, and advocacy.
