Accident Report: Rear End Accident of Colby Avenue

In April of 2002, J.D. was driving his 1997 Ford Escort vehicle in the 5600 block of Colby Avenue in Everett, Washington.  He stopped his vehicle for traffic ahead.  While stopped, J.D. was hit from behind by W.B.  The force of the collision was significant, causing J.D.'s vehicle to strike the vehicle ahead with great force. W.B. was cited by the police for inattentive driving while J.D. was not cited for any infraction. The impact to J.D.'s car was fairly significant, in fact his vehicle was declared a total loss. In addition, the vehicle ahead of J.D.'s was also declared a total loss due to the impact of J.D.'s vehicle being hit from behind.

Some injuries that J.D. sustained are as follows:

1)            Sprain/strain of the cervical spine with associated subluxation complexes

2)            Sprain/strain of the lumbosacral spine

3)            Closed head injury

4)            Chest contusion

5)            Trapezius strain

6)            Headaches

7)            Dizziness

8)            Decreased cervical and lumbosacral range of motion

9)            Sleeplessness

J.D. is a married 51 year-old Everett citizen where he lives with his wife and three young children. J.D. is employed at Cedar Park Assembly of God in Bothell, Washington. Cedar Park is both a church and a school (pre-K through high school) where John works as a custodian.  In his free time, he enjoys attending church on Sunday, playing the bass guitar and harmonica, and hiking with his wife and family.

After he sustained the injuries from this accident, he was unable to lead the sustain the same quality of life. Unfortunately, he was unable to work out a fair settlement with W.B.'s insurance company, Farmers Insurance, J.D. turned to the Davis Law Group and Attorney Chris Davis. Davis has been able to successful go head-to-head with Farmers Insurance and obtain a fair compensation for J.D.
