Not usually.  Lawsuits are only brought in a small number of cases (usually less than 2% of all cases).  If a lawsuit is filed, the child's deposition may be requested depending on the child's age and level of maturity.  This can be a very intimidating experience for a child, but the child's lawyer should bend over backwards to prepare the child and make sure the child will be as comfortable as possible.
